Mr. Kevin DiVivio
Hi, I'm Mr. DeVivio and I obtained my bachelors degree at the University of Buffalo where I majored in political science and minored in history. I went on to obtain my masters degree in adolescent education from Adelphi University. This is my first year teaching at Bay Academy. I am eager to bring my 3 years teaching experience from a high school in the Bronx to this wonderful middle school. I plan on implementing engaging lessons to ensure that your students are having fun while learning.

Mr. Paul Lospinuso
Hello, my name is Mr. Lospinuso. I began teaching at Bay Academy in 2014 and I love sharing my passion for history with my students. My passion—gaining a greater understanding of who we are through studying the past—was deepened as I earned my undergraduate degree from St. Joseph’s college in History/Education and my master’s degree in History/Education from Stony Brook University. When I am not developing differentiated lessons I love going to New York Rangers games and traveling to learn more about cultures from around the world.

Mr. John Tutone
My name is Mr. Tutone and I teach 6th Grade Social Studies. I also teach Geography classes for the 6th, 7th, and 8th grades. My students are expected to go beyond simply learning about the past. Each class prepares them for a world in which close examination of texts, careful judgement of sources, clear expression of opinions, and an understanding of different views are just as important as ever. My students dissect both achievements and challenges, of the past and the present, to be better able to both accomplish and overcome in their own bright futures. I have an undergraduate degree from the University at Albany in Business Administration with concentrations in Finance and Marketing as well as a minor in Economics. I received my masters degree in Education from Brooklyn College. I have experience working in Elementary Schools, Middle Schools, and High Schools. The students at Bay Academy are a great source of joy and pride for me. Supporting and challenging them brings a smile to my face everyday. Last year I began coaching the Debate Team. We had great success in our first year with the team both winning and placing at tournaments. This year we have a competitive group of 8th graders on the team who will be working with their new team members to build upon last year’s accomplishments.
